Hey wutzup! I just wanted to say that you guys are awesome. I love the way your music sounds...And the lyrics are pretty good too...It seems like its a pretty depressing album though. There's something I dont get though: Why do yall always talk about how religions are useless and there is no god because he didn't help you....or wutever...I mean..when no one is there for you and no one loves you...you still have God. I wanted to comment on what Yellowcard said, and yes I AM a fan of Yellowcard and SES. So I like both bands but I want to say this talking shit and directly bashing on a band for no reason and them not being there to defend themselves so they can take you out is just fucking stupid! I hate it when bands do that it's like a bunch of little kids playing he said - she said and not fighting it out in person. I have no doubt SES could take Yellowcard out (not to bash them, but it's true.) So just make sure Yellowcard is there when you bash them and kick this asses, plus they could just be jealous of YOUR success and want to make publicity for themselves. Oh well, I'm glad you guys enjoyed the holidays!

hey guys...awesome CD. just got it saturday and its awesome. i saw you guys live on november 8th, in charleston. you guys need to come back! i'll be honest...at the time, i didnt really know much about you guys and i was basically just looking forward to seeing puddle of mudd...but i remember you playing "silhouettes" and i love that song! now, i love SES as much, or more, than puddle of mudd. i dont know...i dont really listen to puddle of mudd anymore so i guess its safe to say that i love SES more than puddle of mudd. please come back to charleston or ...try the bi-lo center in greenville, south carolina, cuz thats not too far from me...i'd have to go almost 4 hours to see you in charleston again and i dont know if my parents are up to it and i'm only 15!! so PLEEASE try to get to the bi-lo center in south carolina and let me know so i can be there. you guys rock and your music is really cool. i think you guys are about the most original band out there right now, no lies. you have a good rock sound but your riffs and bass lines and everything are different. your drum beats are even original...no offense but you usually cant really pull off an "original" drum beat because everything has pretty much been done before...but SES even has original drum sounds on some songs so thats kick ass! anyway, i'd have to say my favorite songs are "silhouettes," "every sunday," and ...hmm...i dont know. i love so many of them. keep rocking guys, you guys are awesome!

My doctor told me its like cancer but a little milder. n e ways i just moved in with my dad cuz my mom is a complete BITCH, and i told him that i wanted to go to the doctors so i can get rida this shit already and his girlfriend is telling me i dont have it and just forget it even tho im 15 and i have arthritis and a number of things 15 year old ppl shouldnt be dealing with. and my dumazz dad is actually listening to her hes like her total and complete bitch, hes telling me i need to spend more time with them as a family and i have no clue wat to do im kinda just going day by day avoiding everyone and everything but iono i think i need to do something already but im not sure wat. Also, 15 is not too young to take charge of your health. Get yourself a new doctor in your area and go! Also www.webmd.com has a lot of good info you can actually understand. Get educated, this is a lifelong illness, but it can be managed if you take good care of yourself. Lupus is an autoimmune disease but the symptoms can be treated. You just have to advocate for youself. You've got to get better so you can go to all the SES concerts! SES rocks!

first thing i have to say it you guys are my favorite band. i am always listening to your albulm. i love the whole thing. you guys are by far the best band i have ever seen in concert, and i know you really do care about your fans. i talked to you after your concert in omaha. i know you wouldn't remember me. you need to come back to nebraska sometime. i will make sure i go to the show. i wouldn't miss it for anything. Hello. I just wanted to say that I FELL IN LOVE with the Smile Empty Soul CD. I don't think I've ever felt this way about another CD. I'm not just saying this to say it either. Your lyrics are amazing. I can't listen to "This Is War" without crying. I love every single song on your CD. It really bothers me when people talk shit about Smile Empty Soul, because your lyrics mean so much to me. When people say bad things about this band, I feel like SHOVING A KNIFE DOWN THEIR THROAT AND MAKING THEM CHOKE ON THEIR OWN BLOOD AND SALIVA. Guys, I think you're hearing a lot more of what you want to hear than what actually happened. It's really a lot of hearsay and gossip than what'a actually there.

We've been around for about 7 years now, and never thought it would come to us arguing over who's the better band with SES. As a band, I wish them the best of luck, but feeling the need to post a comment about our band is rather immature. As the violinist of YC, my tastes don't necessarily reflect that of my bandmates. Bands that have no business being on radio are being played because THE LABEL IS PAYING FOR IT, not because the band is any good, or even because the station likes it.

Such is the reality of radio, things do get played because the record labels pay people off. That is just the way it is. The bands also pay people off by giving them points on records for radio play. If you don't like it sell your album out of your van. It doesn't change the fact that SES's album is great and so much more than I do it for the drugs. If you can't see that than you truly are clueless. I have had the pleasure of seeing both bands perform live and Yellowcard was not good live AT ALL. That's the true test of being a good band. We could not wait for them to get off stage. Who knows what the true story is, probably somewhere in the middle but instead of bad mouthing a band on stage to people who are not involved and never should be, why don't you guys learn to grow up and talk to the people who are involved. You started it by bad mouthing them to your fans. I guess maturity is something that comes with time and Yellowcard doesn't get it yet. SES is great and if you don't like them too bad, don't listen. Turn off your radio and pop a cd in. That's why you buy them. Even if I enjoyed Yellowcards music, which I don't, I wouldn't support them anymore because they have shown their true colors and why would I put money in their pockets.

I have to say he is right. If you know anything about the music industry you know that labels do pay stations off and there are a few 'promotors' out there that get paid by the artists to get radio play by either getting points off album sales, doing radio shows for free or lump sum payouts. He was right in that regard. I am in no way saying that SES did that, but most bands do pay stations off in one way or another. Unfortuntely that is what the music industry has evolved into. It's a sad state of business and the reason why so many artists are discusted. SES is great and could stand on their own merit.

Why in the hell would that lead singer say something like that... he can hold his grudges all he wants but at least he should keep it to himself. If I ever saw him, well, it wouldn't be pretty. Well, keep up the good work and hope you have a concert in Iowa sometime... I would definitely go to that. Right now I'm trying to go to one of the Missouri concerts on the 29th. When I was reading Romeo and Juliet in school my class did this thing where yoiu matched a character with a song and for Romeo I said that song and my english teacher played it in class when I brought the cd in. WOW, you guys are all ridiculous!!! Smile Empty Soul is the worst band I have ever heard and unfortunately seen live. To even put them in the same sentence as Nirvana is a complete insult. As for Yellowcard, they blow Smile Empty Soul out of the water in every aspect( except of course for sucking). YC is genuine and sincere, while SES is so obviously trying to fit an image (their videos are proof of that.) I knew I hated this band when I saw them at a concert and they actually started a song by asking the crowd if they hated their parents like it was the coolest thing ever.
